2018/2019 Smoking Cessation Dates

We have updated our Smoking Cessation Sessions for the remainder of 2018 and beginning of 2019.

Each session is only FOUR dates, FOUR hours total to be smoke-free and reduce your risk for cancer, stroke, and coronary disease.

SUMMER 2018:  July 31, August 7, 9, and 14

FALL 2018:  November 5, 12, 14, 19

WINTER 2019:  January 7, 14, 16, 21

Monthly Interactive Cooking Classes

Learn to cook nutritious, tasty recipes that help you lead a healthy lifestyle.

Cooking class demonstrations start at 5:30 pm and cost is $15.00 per class.  There is a maximum of 15 participants (and a minimum of 5).

Interesting facts on the 2018 Weight Loss Competition: 

There were 323 total participants

BMIs were down 4% for women and 3.73% for men

Women loss 14% on average

Men loss 8% on average

32.5% of women participants finished and 30% of men finished

Halfway through, men were losing 7% and women were losing 5%

The participant’s loss 2,180.8 pounds over the entire 2018 program

Details

Come in for a free risk screening by our Cardiovascular Nurse and/or our Preventive Fellow. We will assess your cholesterol, blood sugar, liver enzymes, HgbA1c (3 month sugar average), Blood Pressure, waist circumference, BMI, and Heart Rate.
Recommendations will be made for further risk assessment follow up with your Primary Care Provider or our Wellness Center or to continue as you are!
Offer is available as long as space allows – so make your appointment early to ensure your risk screening.
